ROMAIN KAIVERS AND MARCO MALONE TAKE THE POLE POSITIONS IN FORCAREI

Forcarei (Spain), 21 August 2021 – For the  Supermoto European Championship, the round in Forcarei is the third in the championship but for the riders of the S4 class in the European Supermoto Cup it will be second of their season here in Spain. Circuito A Madalena is located near the city Forcarei in the green mountains of Galicia. The track is a combination of a fast straight, smooth corners and a technical off-road section for the S2 class.

On the perfectly prepared track, but in constantly changing weather conditions it was KTM MTR rider Romain Kaivers who took the pole position in the S2 class and FRT2 Racing rider Marco Malone took the pole position in the S4 class.

Time practice S2

In the free practices in Forcarei it was the leader in the championship Andy Buschberger who was fastest in both session, but during the time practice the Austrian rider has some difficulties to find his rhythm due to changing weather conditions, from light rain back to dry and light rain again. At the end of the timed practice the track was getting dryer and the lap times got faster and faster. First position in this session was constantly changing, and in lap five minutes Gazza Racing rider Youry Catherine started the battle for the pole position with a very fast laptime. Buscherberger quickly followed but couldn’t beat the time of Catherine and had to settle with second place at that time. In the last lap KTM MTR rider Romain Kaivers got a very fast pace and the Belgium rider set the fastest time of 1:08:354 and took the pole, his first of the season leaving Catherine in second and Buschberger in third.

Time practice S4

Just before the time practice of the S2 class, the riders of the European Supermoto Cup in the S4 class started their timed practice , their second of the season. In wet conditions at the start it was difficult for the riders to find a good fast rhythm but after it stopped raining the track conditions got better for the asphalt riders of the S4 class. L30 TM Factory riders Kevin Vandi and Alessandro Sanchioni, who is the leader in the Cup, were able to set some fast times and for a long time both riders were on top in the standings. With the weather getting better other riders also got faster and it was FRT2 Racing rider Marco Malone who took the pole position only 00:026 seconds in front of Kevin Vandi. The teammate of Vandi, Sanchioni finished in third in the timed practice.
