THIS WEEKEND THE SUPERMOTO SEASON WILL CONTINUE IN FORCAREI – SPAIN
Forcarei (Spain) 19 August 2021 – This weekend the third Round of the 2021 FIM Supermoto World Championship will take place in Spain. After a year of absence due to the international covid-19 pandemic the championship is back at Circuito A Madalena in Forcarei, situated in the region of Pontevedra. With its fast straights, tight corners and technical off-road section, the racetrack in the North-East of Spain has all it takes for some fantastic racing this weekend. The battle for the championship is still wide open and all riders will try to take the victory in Forcarei in front of the Spanish crowd.
After two rounds in the S1GP class of the FIM Supermoto World championship, Phoenix Racing rider Marc-Reiner Schmidt has a lead of 13 points, on L30 TM Factory rider Thomas Chareyre and 33 points on MTR KTM rider Lukas Hollbacher. The German rider will try to extend his lead and take an important step towards the World championship. Taking the victory won’t be easy as Thomas Chareyre is in form and has shown some good results in the past in Forcarei and for sure will go for his second win of the season. Hollbacher is also getting stronger and stronger this season and will aim for his first win this year. Number four and five in the championship are the teammates of Schmidt at Phoenix Racing, Elia Sammartin and Milan Sitniansky. Together with the teammate of Chareyre, L30 TM Factory rider Diego Monticelli, Sammartin and Sitniansky will continue their battle for fourth in the championship. The team of L30 TM Factory will be completed in Spain by Patrick Pals. Seventh place in the standings is for SBD Union Bike rider Giovanni Bussei and the experienced Italian will be present in Forcarei to set some good results. SMX Racing with their French rider Mickael Amodeo is back in Spain after missing the Czech GP. Vertemati Racing will also be present again with Michael Vertemati at the wheel. DDC Racing rider Daniele di Cicco and Husqvarna rider Alberto Moseriti complete the field of permanent riders. In Forcarei three Portuguese riders will also attend the GP of Spain. Sebastian Gil, Sergio Rego and Carlos Marques will try to set the best results possible.
The S2 class of the Supermoto European Championship will also continue this weekend at the Circuito A Madalena in Forcarei. Leader in the championship is Austrian Husqvarna rider Andy Buschberger has an advantage of 20 points on L30 TM Factory riders Luca Bozza and Steve Bonnal who are on equal points in the standings. Gazza Racing rider Youri Catherine is currently fourth in the championship and will be joined in Forcarei by his teammates Andrea Stucchi and Tim Szalai. MTR KTM is completed again this round by Belgian rider Romain Kaivers, currently fifth in the S2 class. After missing the race in Vysoke Myto, SMX Racing rider Romeo Fiorentino is back again and will try to improve his eight place in the championship.
For the S4 European Cup, the round in Forcarei is the second race of the season. After an succesfull start of the S4 class in Ortona, the riders will be ready for some action again. Leader in the Cup is L30 TM Racing rider Alessandro Sanchioni, but his advantage is only one point on FRT2 rider Marco Malone and two points on Federico d’Annunzio and Kevin Vandi. Fifth in the standings is Alex Ruiz Jimenez for who it is his home race in Spain. Gazza Racing will also have 2 riders at the start, Giorgio Cravotto and Matteo Gabbianelli will defend the red colors of the team. Supermotoland Team will have an completed English team at the start with Matthew Ford-Dunn, Jodie Fieldhouse and James Welch. A lot of Spanish riders joining the S4 European Cup for this event.
