THE S2 SUPERMOTO EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP CONTINUES THIS WEEKEND IN POLAND

Poznan (Poland), 28 June 2019 – This weekend the S2 Supermoto European Championship continues in Poland on the racetrack of Tor Poznan in Poland. The circuit of Poznan also hosted a round in 2018 and again the fast track with its wide corners and short off-road section will demand the most of the riders and their machines. With 24 riders and teams present in Poland combined with the good weather predictions, the battle for the victory will be hard and full of action again.

After missing last year’s races in Poznan, due to an injury sustained in the free practices on Saturday,  TM Factory Racing Team rider Thomas Chareyre returns back to the starting grid as the leader in the championship, together with his teammate at TM Factory Racing, Italian rider Diego Monticelli. After winning the first two rounds of the championship, Thomas Chareyre will try to keep him unbeaten status in Poland. With all riders in good rhythms and wins in their Nationals championships the battle on the fast track will be harder than before. One of the strongest competition for the riders of TM Factory Racing is coming from Phoenix Racing Team. The Italian team already had some very good results in the first rounds with their riders Markus Class, Elia Sammartin and Nicolas Cousin. The Phoenix riders are currently second, third and fourth in the 2019 championship and all three riders are determined to close the gap to Chareyre. TMS Tuning Motorsport rider Milan Sitnianksy is currently fifth in the standings, and the Czech rider will try to enter the top four. Sitniansky will be joined on one of his favourite tracks by his Brazilian teammates Rafael Fonseca and Kleber Justino, who travelled again from the other side of the world to Poland. Degasoline Motorsport will again have only Patrick Pals at the start in Poznan. The Estonian rider is determined to improve his performance on the Degasoline TM. The yellow team of Suzuki Grau Racing from Angel Grau has travelled to Poznan as well and will have all four riders on the starting grid. Jaume Gaya, Pedro Rehn, Daniel Guzman and Marcelo Silvero will defend the yellow Suzuki colours of the Spanish team.

 

Oldest team in the paddock MTR KTM Racing will have his rider Eero Madisson ready to race on the new improved KTM of Franco Mollo. Madisson will try to improve his eleventh position in the championship. Team Birba Racing is also present again with their young Italian rider Gioele Filippetti who is currently second in the standing of the Lites Cup. The leader of the Junior Cup, German Husqvarna rider Jannik Hintz will try defend his leading position and will go for this third victory this season.

 

The leader in the Lites Cup, TM Andorra Racing rider Raoul Tschupp will on the grid again to defend his leading position. The experienced rider had a difficult start of the 2019 season but is always fast on the track in Poznan which suits his riding style perfeclt. In Poznan there also will be again a lot of private riders at the start. With a lot of experienced riders in this group, they are all outsiders for the podium. Yamaha will be represented this weekend by Czech rider Eric Provaznik from Region Region CZ and Finnish rider Sami Uutela who rides his first race of the season. Another Scandinavian rider is back after missing the race in Busca. Hampus Gustafson will represent Sweden on his Husqvarna.

In total 20 riders from 11 countries will start this weekend at the third race of the 2019 S2 Supermoto European Supermoto Championship. With all riders in a good season rhythm and getting faster and faster each race, the races on the circuit in Poznan will be full of action again!
