INTERNATIONAL OF FRANCE SUPERMOTO | THOMAS CHAREYRE TAKES THE POLE IN PERS
Pers (France), 19 May 2018 – The second round of the Supermoto International of France takes place this weekend on the superb Lissartel circuit in Pers, Cantal. The Moto Club of Saint Mamet Cantal has done an excellent job of preparing the track and organizing the event.
This morning, all the riders were able to discover a very well prepared, technical and fast track. Thomas Chareyre (TM) won the qualifying session, ahead of Marc-Reiner Schmidt (Honda) and Laurent Fath (KTM).
This day was dedicated to free practice and time trials, while tomorrow will be dedicated to racing.
CHAREYRE ON POLE
The whole day was marked by the battle between the French rider Thomas Chareyre (TM, Team TC4) and the German rider Marc-Reiner Schmidt (Honda, Team L30 Racing). From the first free practice at the end of the morning, both riders set times below the minute. They will then improve at each session. It’s the Frenchman who is the fastest in the first practice, while the German is fastest in the second practice. In the time practice, the battle is intense but the Honda driver can not do anything to counter his opponent who will beat him for just over a tenth of a second, and so Thomas Chareyre will start tomorrow in pole position. Laurent Fath (KTM, MTR team) got a good performance by taking the third time, ahead of his former team-mate Sylvain Bidart (Honda, Team Luc1 Motorsport). The second rider of Team Luc1, Germain Vincenot Marchal (Honda, Team Luc1 Motorsport) confirms to feel at ease in this category and finishes fifth, following sixth Romain Kaivers (KTM, MTR Racing Team), seventh Catrice Florian (TM), eighth Marie Luce Alexis (Yamaha), ninth Bunod Emerick (Honda, GAZZA Racing Team) and tenth Thain Rodrig (Honda).
The battle promises to be beautiful tomorrow!
